Civil Engineering Technician

As a Civil Engineering Technician, you’ll play a key part in supporting infrastructure projects from the ground up—literally. Whether it’s providing project documentation, material testing, or ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards, your technical expertise will help shape the roads and bridges that keep our communities moving. The person in this role will also act as the first line of contact with our clients.
Some Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Perform on-site sampling and testing of material such as soil compaction, aggregate, and concrete.
- Complete detailed records of inspections and test results for project documentation and historical reference.
- Perform and verify field measurements of completed tasks on the projects for reports, records, and payment.
- Read and interpret plans and specification.
- Input data from tests and inspection into the project database and generate reports for clients.
- Conduct regular calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Regularly communicate with the lead inspector, contractor, and stakeholders to ensure project quality.
- Actively participate in the project and foster relationships with the project team.
- Function as a Client Representative; keep in touch with past and current project staff and contacts.
Requirements:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Construction Management
- 10 years of experience in civil engineering
- A strong understanding of math and science
- Knowledge of construction safety principles
- Familiarity with surveying and mapping techniques
- Strong listening, speaking, and writing skills
- The ability to think critically, troubleshoot operations, and provide meaningful feedback
- A valid driver's license
This role will pay between $42 to $50 an hour based on skills and experience.
